Him And Her- Edward Hamilton |

|
She looks outside and recognizes the familiar roads they
had not visited in years. In the few seconds to come he thought about how
she made him feel. How nobody would never fill him up as she did. He could
look into her eyes for hours on end as she was the one he adored. She
pulls over and at this point is going through a roller coaster of
emotions. She looks at her man and is thankful for the opportunity to
share her life with someone with such passion. He looks ahead and notices
that the road ahead was no longer in use so they decide to stop and
proceed on foot. He walks out and runs across the front of the car. He
opens her door and reaches out his hand for her to hold on to as she exits
the vehicle. She is smiling constantly and is bursting with anticipation.
They drift away from the car and walk through a narrow road lined with
rubble walls on both sides. She can see the ocean in the distance and its
huge boulders towering from its depths. A small chapel would attract her
attention as she carefully avoided loosing balance on the rough pathway.
They would walk for a few minutes looking at the road and wondering why
the road had been blocked temporarily. Distant memories of times gone by
arise in their minds. They both remain quiet and reminisce about the times
of beautiful love they shared in their life. She can almost hear his voice
in her head. He would always take her to a remote place and make her
venture in places she has never been before. This place was the most
prominent as it had meaning for the both of them. They had arrived to
their spot were they would sit and wait for the moon to rise in the
nights’ sky but further down they noticed the road was also blocked at the
other end.
By day the view in front of them was equally breathtaking. They would remember Sunday afternoons baking under the hot sun. They remember nights were they danced under the moonlight, when they kissed the last time. Were he promised to always be there for her and she would love him for the rest of her life. He positions himself behind her and hugs her as he leans his head on her shoulder. They stared towards the horizon. The clouds slowly sailing across the dim lit sky and the waves would crash on the shore beneath them. She would grasp on even tighter to him as she turns around to face him. They would share a kiss and they would exchange smiles as she would ask “why are we here?” He smiles and would pause for a second as he would recognize the slight discomfort in her tone. He takes a deep breath and sits her down on a smooth rock further down the path. Nobody around, no noise, no distraction. Just them, the elements and their love. She suspects she might know why they were here. She wonders. Moments of anticipation pass by as he kneels down between her legs and rests his elbows on her knees. The energy is intense but feels that she was not ready for what he had to say. He lifts his head up and stares into her eyes as he smiles and squeezes her hand within his and says “love… you have touched me in so many ways. So many ways I was wrong thinking I knew love before I met you. So many ways I looked at myself and the life I led and felt truly at peace. So many ways I now see what you really mean to me and so many are the ways I love you. You have made me the happiest man alive and I promise to you that I will spend the rest of your life making you feel the same.” She stares him in the eye with confidence and replies “Love, my life would have not been the same if you did not love me. I have never been loved the way that you loved me. And I have never smiled this much in my life before I met you. Within you I see myself and within me I feel you. My life is now complete. You make me feel safe and nobody has ever been there for me as much as you. I feel we are for ever therefore I dedicate every minute of my life loving you.” They both sigh and hug and the sound of the first cry can be heard. Both of them give in to the moment and realize that their life would simply have not been the same without each others love. His mind wonders off and envisions the times they shared, all the laughs, all the smiles, all the dreams that her love had made real. She can not contain herself as she pulls her face away from his to be able to glance at her soul mate. She kisses and holds his face tightly between her palms and is overwhelmed by the moment and bursts into tears with out having a rational explanation for why she felt that way. “Don’t cry” he whispered softly. “I love you”. Her cry was carried away by the wind and the silence became so loud. She can not think of a life without him and wants to enjoy the moment until it lasts. As she wipes off her tears she’d whisper softly “I’ll always keep you in my heart no matter what life throws at us” And he would nod in acknowledgement and would hug her as he felt she is almost ready for what he wanted to tell her. They spend some time just embracing each other. They sit in front of one another absorbing all the energy from their surroundings. At this point the sun has almost disappeared and the sky is tainted with shades of yellow, red and burnt orange. The wind has died down and the waves have calmed. Such a perfect location. Such a perfect moment. He hoped that it would be the right moment and the right location to tell her, but he refrained from doing so for the time being. They head towards the car to head on back to reality charged up with positive energy. They walk slowly together and tears are forgotten as they repeatedly comfort one another with words of love and praise. He would give her advice when she needed and she would thank him for how she felt. She asked him to drive, yet again, as it was getting dark but he declined and sat in the passenger seat. Visibility was poor and the temperature decreased as they both rolled up the windows and listened to the music on the radio. The song that played told a story of love and hope and they both were touched by it. She looks at him and he notices the slight trace of a tear upon her cheek. He slides his thumb across it and gently removes her tear as she smiles goofily. He presses his thumb against his index rubbing the tear in between and says “please don’t cry. Everything will be fine”. Nothing could go wrong as they both spoke for hours driving aimlessly through the dark road. They are the happiest they have ever been and they both look forward for a life of love and peace together. They plan and they talk and they kiss and they hug as much as they can. With smiles permanently imprinted on their faces each one drifts off in a world of their own. |
